This creates opportunities to ensure economic sustainability for communities in Hawaii. Featured Project Ipu Waiwai - Storing the Wealth of LearningFunded by the U.S. Department of Education. Ipu Waiwai (2010-2013) targets elementary school teachers in the Nanakuli/Wai‘anae public school district on the island of O‘ahu, Hawai‘i. Its primary objective is to connect teachers with academia, cultural and industry mentors in integrating place-based, culturally aligned curriculum employing technology and 21st century learning.
